Nelsons Settle Still Birth Claim For Grieving Mother

Nelsons Solicitors represented Ms P in a claim against Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust arising from the still birth of her daughter.

The Trust accepted that on two occasions Ms P’s urine showed glycosuria (sugar in the urine) in third trimester of pregnancy. They further agreed that this should have triggered an antenatal glucose tolerance test but confirmed that were no available ‘slots’ before Ms P was due to give birth. Sadly if that test had been conducted, Ms P’s gestational diabetes would have been diagnosed and Ms P’s daughter would have been delivered alive.

Ms P had to endure the vaginal delivery of her stillborn child and suffered a psychiatric injury.

Nelsons successfully obtained a five figure sum for Ms P.
